Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a great day and enjoying the month of February so far. I cannot believe the first month of 2016 is already over! I'm looking forward to the month of February and seeing what it brings to me and my life. I'm back with another weekly favorites(a day early!) and I am excited to share with you that I will be in Boston this weekend! I'm taking a little weekend getaway trip with my boyfriend and I am so excited. I'm looking forward to just getting away for a few days and relaxing. I'll share some of my trip with you sometime next week ;) Anyway, let's get into this week's favorites!

I was a collegiate basketball player and I miss the game more than anything. I would do anything to go back and play another game with my team. I accomplished quite a lot in my collegiate career and I am proud of myself, but there's nothing like physically being on that court playing a game you love. I miss it more than anything!

Favorite Youtube Channel:

Although I've been watching this couple since they started their vlog channel, I've definitely gotten hooked and look forward to their videos every day. The channel, called Alex & Michael, is about two newlyweds who share their everyday life with their viewers. They are such a cute couple and I love Alex's style, as well. She also has her main channel, Alexandrea Garza, where she shares makeup and style tips with her viewers. Here is their wedding vlog:

I've always enjoyed reading articles from the website, Elite Daily. I have been recently reading more and more articles and love learning new things. I came across this article this week and wanted to share it with you all. Here it is:

Favorite Makeup:

This week, I fell back in love with a foundation that I have had for quite some time now. I ran out of this foundation and decide to re-purchase. It's the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. It's something about the coverage that just looks so nice and clean on your skin. It doesn't feel like you're wearing too much makeup and gives your skin an even and flawless look. I'm in the shade 102-Shell Beige. Lusterlux on YouTube has a great video explaining how the foundation works and gives swatches of the colors offered.

Favorite Song:

I am obsessed with this song! I've known about it for a while, but I have had it on repeat this week. I first learned of this song while I was at work and ever since I've heard it, it is just one of those songs that will never get old in my opinion. 

Favorite Quote:

This quote ties into practicing mindfulness so perfectly. I have a hard time sometimes and I allow my emotions to get in the way, but I have been working on that daily. 

Favorite Drink:

I've been trying to not drink as much coffee lately (which is a struggle) and I've started to love: WATER! It sounds so silly, but theres so many ways you can jazz up your water and enjoy it. My favorite combination to flavor my water with is with cucumber and lemon. It's super refreshing!

Favorite Movie:

I've been really into watching documentaries lately. I watched a documentary on the JFK conspiracy theory this week and it was so good. It's on Netflix and I suggest you watch it. I love movies or shows that are based on real, true stories, and that make you think. 

Favorite Food:

I've been super conscious of what I put in my body this week, so I have been trying to eat healthier. I have been making avocado toast all week for breakfast. 

Favorite Makeup:

I have been doing a more simple,clean look lately. I like to keep my face looking healthy and natural with my makeup. To give myself that glow from within look, I have been really reaching for my highlighters this week! My ultimate favorite two highlighters to mix together are the Becca highlighter in Moonstone and the Ambient Light palette from Hourglass.

Winter Wonderland Tag: 1|24|16

Happy Sunday everyone! Being from NYC, you're used to snow every winter. We have an occasional storm every few years and this year we sure had a storm to remember! We got about 20-25 inches of snow over the weekend here, and I've been cooped up in my house watching Netflix and stuffing my face with food (which is bad I know!) While I'm stuck in the house, I was searching the internet for a winter tag to do and came across the Winter Wonderland Tag. What do you like best about winter?

My favorite thing about winter is being able to layer clothing and wearing giant, blanket like scarves to keep me warm. I love winter fashion because you can layer and be super warm and cozy while looking stylish at the same time. 

Scarves or beanies?

Scarves, for sure! I love all kinds of scarves, but my favorite are the giant blanket scarves that can be worn a multitude of ways.

Favorite Winter Nail Polish?

I love muted,neutral colors for winter. I love wearing gray or mauve tones on my nails.

Favorite Starbuck's drink?

My favorite Starbuck's drink to warm me up is a hot green tea latte. I'm obsessed with anything matcha flavored!

What are your top 3 winter essentials?

My top 3 winter essentials are:

-Chapstick because no one likes dry chapped lips

-Body butter to help lock in moisture as skin tends to be drier in the winter

-Scarves to keep warm

Must have winter lip product.

I love using lip scrubs to get rid of and prevent future dry, flaked, or cracked skin on my lips.

Favorite Winter Candle Scent.

I love anything that smells like cookies or baking. I'm currently burning a Yankee Candle scented Almond Toffee and it smells AMAZING! Thanks to my co-worker for gifting me this ;)

Favorite Song:

I am obsessed with this song at the moment. It's just one of those pick me up songs that will put you in a good mood no matter what. I always start with this song when I get ready for my day. It's just super catchy!

Favorite Food:

This week I went for breakfast with my boyfriend to a local bakery/cafe which was so amazing. If you're in the NYC area it's called Piece-A-Cake and everything there is to die for! I had pancakes with nutella inside, outside, and all around it and it was amazing!

This couldn't be more true in regards to bettering myself every day.

This is a new part of my weekly favorites! I've recently been in the market for a new foundation because I suffer from oily/acne prone skin. I came across the brand Pacifica, and I fell in love with the way this foundation looks on my skin.

This week, I'm obsessing over my regular drink from Starbuck's, a green tea latte. It is such a delicious pick me up and a great alternative to when I'm not in the mood for coffee.

Being it is a new year, this quote resonated with me. I am always trying to work on myself and it is a big challenge. I try and do subtle things each and every day that'll make me happy.

Desi Perkins

Desi has always been a favorite of mine, but this week she wins the top spot. When I first discovered Desi, she was a blonde bombshell doing amazing makeup week after week. Recently, she started a vlog channel with her husband, Steven. Their editing skills are amazing and it makes me appreciate their work so much. And also, Desi went brunette this week and I am DYING at how beautiful she looks!

Favorite Brand:

I have obsessed over Club Monaco for as long as I can remember. I've always wanted to be able to afford their clothing, but it was always too expensive for me. Recently, I went on their site and noticed they were having a sale. I finally can say I own something from their store and I am super excited to style it. I bought the Lindy Soft Trench in olive and I am so in love. The coat is so soft and lightweight, and I cannot wait to layer pieces with it and wear big chunky scarves.

This week, I have been busy with work and I find the best way for me to unwind is to watch YouTube. New Year, Fresh Start | Weekly Favorites: 1|1|16

First off, Happy New Year! I hope this year brings love, fortune, and prosperity into each and everyone of your lives. I am grateful for my health, my family, my boyfriend and my friends. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for them. I want to be honest and write this beginning snippet to sincerely apologize for my absence on my blog. I haven't felt inspired and didn't want to just post anything. I needed time to myself to work through my struggles and become inspired again. With that being said, I decided to start this new year off with a fresh start and a clear mind. I wanted to share with you some favorites of mine and have decided that every Friday, I am going to include my weekly favorites. As some of you may know, my biggest inspiration and role model is Mimi Ikonn. For those of you who do not know her, she is an entrepreneur, dreamer, and creator. I look up to her in everything and anything that she does. I follow all of her social media outlets, and I recently have been hooked on her blog. As I was scrolling through, she has also started a weekly favorites post and I look forward to seeing it every week. She has inspired me so much, as much as to start my own weekly favorites posts. Jessica Jones. This show is amazing! If you haven't seen it, you definitely need to go watch it. It is a series on Netflix. It will not disappoint ;)

My favorite drink this week was the Sugar Cookie White Hot Chocolate from Tim Horton's. I think the name speaks for itself!

This quote resonated with me because I want to be the change people wish to see in the world. I want to inspire others to become what they want to be and inspire them to follow their dreams.

There's a restaurant where I live that my boyfriend and I go to pretty regularly. They have amazing food and I can't get enough of their salmon dish. It is a teriyaki glazed salmon served over a salad of greens, apples, fresh figs, strawberries, dried cranberries, and orange-amaretto vinaigrette. Yum!

Mimi Ikonn is a creative genius. How could I not include her in my first weekly favorites if she was the one who truly inspired me?! She puts out amazing content and more of the world should know about her!

My Latest Skin Care Obsession : October 28, 2015

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a great day. It's rainy here in New York and I decided to do a little post on skin care. I'm getting some stuff done around my house today and also am having a pampering day because I'm staying in due to this yucky weather. Lately, I have been obsessing over sheet masks! I go along with my regular nightly skin care routine and then before I add my moisturizers and eye cream, I apply a sheet mask. Sheet masks are a perfect little pick me up and it feels like your receiving a spa treatment. My favorite sheet masks so far are by Too Cool For School and Boscia. I get the Egg Cream mask by Too Cool For School and I get the charcoal pore minimizing and the green tea mattifying masks by Boscia. They leave your skin so soft and it really allows your skin to absorb the essence that is packed into the sheet mask. I'll leave links below for you so that hopefully you can enjoy these masks as much as I do. Treat yourself to a pamper day and I promise you won't regret it!

What I Wore Wednesday : October 7, 2015

Hello everyone ! I'm so sorry for the absence of posts lately, I have just been super busy and not feeling as inspired as I normally am. I hope you can forgive me ! I came up with the idea that I could post what I was wearing on every Wednesday of the week and just make a simple post with just the items that I plan on wearing for that particular day. Today, I'm going out shopping later on with my boyfriend and his little brother so I wanted to keep things comfy and casual. New Season, New Me : September 7, 2015

Hello everyone ! Happy Labor Day ! I have been thinking as of lately that I need a change and I need to start fresh. I recently decided to make this change due to a class I was taking online about being a social media superhero. I took this class on the site The Nectar Collective and it changed my perspective on this work of blogging and prompted me to make some changes in order to grow my blog and become more of a role model for my viewers. While I was taking this class, I learned so many new tips and ideas which I will be applying to my blog and my soon to be new Youtube channel (stay tuned for videos!) I want to make this blog more personal and more than just a fashion blog! I want to include my beauty tips, my lifestyle tips, and anything and everything that I can. I want this blog to be a part of a community where you feel that you can come here for anything that you need and you can ask me anything you feel you need to ask and I will gladly answer. I want this blog to be a part of your every day routine and I want you to be excited for whatever I post. I want you all to look forward to what I will post next. I want this to be a creative outlet for everyone that reads my blog. In order for this to feel more like a community and be more personal, I have decided to change the name of my blog and start fresh. The new name of my blog is going to be Meg, Inc. I want this to be all about my life and I want to share all of my knowledge to you. I will also be starting a Youtube channel to share my thoughts and creativity with you all. August Favorites : August 31, 2015

Hello everyone! Sadly, the month of August is over and September starts tomorrow which means summer is officially over. People will be going back to school and before you know it fall will be here.
