Weekly Favorites: 3|11|16

Hello everyone! I hope everyone is having an amazing day! This week has been a busy one, but of course I had to take the time to post a weekly favorites and share with you what I have been loving! Let me know what  you guys think and I also would love to know what you've been up to! Enjoy!

Favorite Song:

My favorite song this week is All My Love by Major Lazer. This song just makes you want to get up and move! I also love listening to this when I start my day when I am getting ready, it just brightens my mood.

Favorite Drink:

My favorite drink this week is another iced coffee! I get it from my local coffee shop and I get a coconut iced coffee with skim milk and two Splenda and it's just sweet enough to curb my sweet tooth!

Favorite Food:

I started the Weight Watchers Diet this past week and I have been loving protein pancakes for breakfast! I wish I had a picture, but I follow the Blogilates recipe; I'm going to leave the video here for you to see!

Favorite Quote:

This quote! It motivates me to push myself to achieve my goals and my dreams.

Favorite Makeup:

I could not stop wearing my Kat Von D Lolita liquid lipstick at all this week! I  think I may have worn it every day (don't judge)

Weekly Favorites: 3|4|16

Hey everyone! I first want to apologize for my absence this past week. I was super busy with work, but that's no excuse for slacking on my blog! I'm back this week with another weekly favorites that I hope you all will enjoy...Let me know what you think!

Favorite Song:

This song! I can listen to it all day and my excitement grows each time I listen to it. 

Favorite Drink:

I have been loving Iced coffee lately...I know it's pretty basic, but I just can't resist a nice iced coffee from Dunkin Donuts. Being from New York, every year around this time they give out a travel cup that you can re-fill up until the end of April for a fraction of the regular cost and it's just amazing! I get a caramel iced coffee with milk and sugar ;) 

Favorite Food:

On date day/night this week, my boyfriend and I went to Brick House Tavern & Tap and had duck wings. I'm not one to try new things and after trying these I'm so glad I did. They came with their signature sauce and sriacha ranch dressing and they were to die for! Also, it's my boyfriend's birthday today! Happy Birthday to the love of my life!

I agree so much with this quote. If you aren't willing to give someone your all and treat them how you would like to be treated, then you need to remove that person from your life. Never let anyone treat you in a way that does not make you happy.

Favorite Makeup:

Over the weekend, I actually was given a sample of the new Tarte Rainforest of The Sea foundation to try out and I am slightly obsessed! It is super lightweight, but gives amazing coverage. I wore it all day and felt like I had no makeup on and it gave me such a flawless airbrushed finished. I plan on picking up a full size of the product.

Weekly Favorites: 2|19|16

Hello once again and welcome back to my blog! I'm back with another weekly favorites and I couldn't be happier to share them with you all. I hope everyone had a productive and meaningful week! I've been crazy busy with work this week but it feels good to be working hard and furthering my dreams. I hope you enjoy this week's favorites; let me know what you think!

Favorite Song:

I have had this song on repeat all week long and it's safe to say that this is my new favorite song. I even have a favorite line in the song. The lyric is, "Baby you're like lightning in a bottle, I can't let you go now that I got it." It may be corny to some, but I love this song!

Favorite Food:

I went on date night with my boyfriend last night and we went to The Cheesecake Factory! I know it's a chain, but we both got off of work late and just wanted to spend some time alone somewhere for a little bit. We always get the Chicken Potstickers as an appetizer and they are just amazing!

Favorite Drink:

This has been a favorite drink of mine for a while, but I've been loving Mojitos lately for my cocktail of choice. There's something about that minty flavor that is so refreshing.

Favorite Quote:

I just want to make everyone around me that I love happy. I want to exude happiness and bring pure joy to the people who mean the most to me. Positivity is what everyone needs in their life. You never  know what someone is going through and I believe that being nice could potentially make someone's whole day.

Favorite Makeup:

For awhile, I strayed away from contouring and bronzing my face. I just wanted to take a break from using so much bronzer and just have a clean, bare face. Lately, I have rediscovered my love for bronzer, probably because I'm super pale right now! I love giving myself a subtle sun-kissed glow and it improves my whole look because I just look healthy and alive. My favorite bronzer to use right now is actually a powder from Maybelline. It's their FIT ME powder; I just buy a shade a few shades darker than my natural skin color.

Weekly Favorites: 2|12|16

Hello everyone! I'm back again this week for a weekly favorites. This past weekend I was in Boston with my boyfriend for a weekend getaway...it was amazing to just kick back and relax! While away on our trip, I felt a whole new wave of inspiration come over me and I couldn't wait to get back to my blog. I'll be the first to admit, I let my blog fall to the wayside a bit because I became busier with my other jobs. I am done making excuses for myself and I am ready to post more fashion and beauty related posts. I hope you are all looking forward to it. Favorite Food:

Wicked Good Cupcakes!

We stayed in the Financial District and were right across the street from Faneuil Hall in Boston. Faneuil Hall is a marketplace with different foods and local shops and retail shops in and surrounding it. We came across these cupcakes after dinner one night and we couldn't resist. This company was featured on the television show, Shark Tank and have become a very successful business. These cupcakes were so delicious we decided to go back the next day and get some more!

Favorite Quote:

I couldn't agree with this quote more. I tend to be very hard on myself and post negative thoughts in my mind more often than not. I want to be more positive and go after what I really want in life. 

Favorite Blogger:

I like to empower others and spread positives to others as much as possible. Although I said I'm hard on myself and think negatively, I always try and build up others and see the best in them. I've been on this blogging journey for a little while now and there has always been that one fellow blogger who shows love on my blog and also has collaborated with me. This blogger's name is Karina and she is the face and name behind the blog, The Lovely Look. If anyone knows me, they know I am obsessed with Adele. Her voice is so amazing and she is just one of the most talented people in today's music world. This song gives me the chills it's so good! Her voice is truly angelic and like no other.

Favorite Makeup:

I love wearing makeup everyday. The only problem is that I don't like to take a seriously long time to apply it. On days where I don't want to go full glam, I try and simplify my steps so that I can get out the door as quick as possible. I love makeup products that make the job easier for you. The product that I have been loving is liquid lipstick. Liquid lipstick is super easy to apply, dries quickly, and will last you all day. I have been loving Kat Von D's liquid lipsticks in the shades, Requiem & Lolita II.

Hello everyone! I hope you're all having a great day and enjoying the month of February so far. I cannot believe the first month of 2016 is already over! I'm looking forward to the month of February and seeing what it brings to me and my life. I'm back with another weekly favorites(a day early!) and I am excited to share with you that I will be in Boston this weekend! I'm taking a little weekend getaway trip with my boyfriend and I am so excited. I'm looking forward to just getting away for a few days and relaxing. I'll share some of my trip with you sometime next week ;) Anyway, let's get into this week's favorites!

I was a collegiate basketball player and I miss the game more than anything. I would do anything to go back and play another game with my team. I accomplished quite a lot in my collegiate career and I am proud of myself, but there's nothing like physically being on that court playing a game you love. I miss it more than anything!

Favorite Youtube Channel:

Although I've been watching this couple since they started their vlog channel, I've definitely gotten hooked and look forward to their videos every day. The channel, called Alex & Michael, is about two newlyweds who share their everyday life with their viewers. They are such a cute couple and I love Alex's style, as well. She also has her main channel, Alexandrea Garza, where she shares makeup and style tips with her viewers. Here is their wedding vlog:

Favorite Makeup:

This week, I fell back in love with a foundation that I have had for quite some time now. I ran out of this foundation and decide to re-purchase. It's the L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. It's something about the coverage that just looks so nice and clean on your skin. It doesn't feel like you're wearing too much makeup and gives your skin an even and flawless look. I'm in the shade 102-Shell Beige. Lusterlux on YouTube has a great video explaining how the foundation works and gives swatches of the colors offered.

Favorite Song:

I am obsessed with this song! I've known about it for a while, but I have had it on repeat this week. I first learned of this song while I was at work and ever since I've heard it, it is just one of those songs that will never get old in my opinion. 

Favorite Quote:

This quote ties into practicing mindfulness so perfectly. I have a hard time sometimes and I allow my emotions to get in the way, but I have been working on that daily. 

Favorite Drink:

I've been trying to not drink as much coffee lately (which is a struggle) and I've started to love: WATER! It sounds so silly, but theres so many ways you can jazz up your water and enjoy it. My favorite combination to flavor my water with is with cucumber and lemon. It's super refreshing!

Favorite Movie:

I've been really into watching documentaries lately. I watched a documentary on the JFK conspiracy theory this week and it was so good. It's on Netflix and I suggest you watch it. I love movies or shows that are based on real, true stories, and that make you think. 

Favorite Food:

I've been super conscious of what I put in my body this week, so I have been trying to eat healthier. I have been making avocado toast all week for breakfast. 

Favorite Makeup:

I have been doing a more simple,clean look lately. I like to keep my face looking healthy and natural with my makeup. To give myself that glow from within look, I have been really reaching for my highlighters this week! My ultimate favorite two highlighters to mix together are the Becca highlighter in Moonstone and the Ambient Light palette from Hourglass.

Winter Wonderland Tag: 1|24|16

Happy Sunday everyone! Being from NYC, you're used to snow every winter. We have an occasional storm every few years and this year we sure had a storm to remember! We got about 20-25 inches of snow over the weekend here, and I've been cooped up in my house watching Netflix and stuffing my face with food (which is bad I know!) While I'm stuck in the house, I was searching the internet for a winter tag to do and came across the Winter Wonderland Tag. What do you like best about winter?

My favorite thing about winter is being able to layer clothing and wearing giant, blanket like scarves to keep me warm. I love winter fashion because you can layer and be super warm and cozy while looking stylish at the same time. 

Scarves or beanies?

Scarves, for sure! I love all kinds of scarves, but my favorite are the giant blanket scarves that can be worn a multitude of ways.

Favorite Winter Nail Polish?

I love muted,neutral colors for winter. I love wearing gray or mauve tones on my nails.

Favorite Starbuck's drink?

My favorite Starbuck's drink to warm me up is a hot green tea latte. I'm obsessed with anything matcha flavored!

What are your top 3 winter essentials?

My top 3 winter essentials are:

-Chapstick because no one likes dry chapped lips

-Body butter to help lock in moisture as skin tends to be drier in the winter

-Scarves to keep warm

Must have winter lip product.

I love using lip scrubs to get rid of and prevent future dry, flaked, or cracked skin on my lips.

Favorite Winter Candle Scent.

I love anything that smells like cookies or baking. I'm currently burning a Yankee Candle scented Almond Toffee and it smells AMAZING! Thanks to my co-worker for gifting me this ;)

Favorite Song:

I am obsessed with this song at the moment. It's just one of those pick me up songs that will put you in a good mood no matter what. I always start with this song when I get ready for my day. It's just super catchy!

Favorite Food:

This week I went for breakfast with my boyfriend to a local bakery/cafe which was so amazing. If you're in the NYC area it's called Piece-A-Cake and everything there is to die for! I had pancakes with nutella inside, outside, and all around it and it was amazing!

This is a new part of my weekly favorites! I've recently been in the market for a new foundation because I suffer from oily/acne prone skin. I came across the brand Pacifica, and I fell in love with the way this foundation looks on my skin.

New Year, Fresh Start | Weekly Favorites: 1|1|16

First off, Happy New Year! I hope this year brings love, fortune, and prosperity into each and everyone of your lives. I am grateful for my health, my family, my boyfriend and my friends. I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for them. I want to be honest and write this beginning snippet to sincerely apologize for my absence on my blog. I haven't felt inspired and didn't want to just post anything. I needed time to myself to work through my struggles and become inspired again. With that being said, I decided to start this new year off with a fresh start and a clear mind. I wanted to share with you some favorites of mine and have decided that every Friday, I am going to include my weekly favorites. As some of you may know, my biggest inspiration and role model is Mimi Ikonn. For those of you who do not know her, she is an entrepreneur, dreamer, and creator. I look up to her in everything and anything that she does. I follow all of her social media outlets, and I recently have been hooked on her blog. Jessica Jones. This show is amazing! If you haven't seen it, you definitely need to go watch it. It is a series on Netflix. It will not disappoint ;)

My favorite drink this week was the Sugar Cookie White Hot Chocolate from Tim Horton's. I think the name speaks for itself!

This quote resonated with me because I want to be the change people wish to see in the world. I want to inspire others to become what they want to be and inspire them to follow their dreams.

There's a restaurant where I live that my boyfriend and I go to pretty regularly. They have amazing food and I can't get enough of their salmon dish. It is a teriyaki glazed salmon served over a salad of greens, apples, fresh figs, strawberries, dried cranberries, and orange-amaretto vinaigrette. Yum!

Mimi Ikonn is a creative genius. How could I not include her in my first weekly favorites if she was the one who truly inspired me?! She puts out amazing content and more of the world should know about her!

My Blog Design : November 6, 2015

Hello everyone ! I hope everyone is having a wonderful and productive day. I wanted to do a post today on my blog design and why I chose for my blog to look the way that it does. When I first made my blog, I was brand new to figuring out what looks nice and what works. I had a banner or four pictures that I thought looked AMAZING, but after a while I realized I didn't like it that much. As I was doing my research and finding inspiration from some of my favorite fashion bloggers, I knew exactly how I wanted to recreate my blog. I decided on a clean, straight forward look. I know when I look at blogs, I enjoy viewing pages that are neat and straight to the point. I tried to make the layout of my blog myself and after a while of trying, I decided I needed to enlist some help in my design. I tried using some free layouts but they offer too many restrictions. I then found a site that has beautiful designs and I fell in love. The site I came across was called Designer Blogs. They have such cute, clean, and creative themes and layouts that I knew I was in the right place. I purchased my layout and couldn't be happier with it. I plan to further re-vamp my page, but for now I am totally happy with my design and will continue to improve it as I go. I hope you all enjoyed this post. Have a great day!

My Latest Skin Care Obsession : October 28, 2015

Hey everyone! I hope you all are having a great day. It's rainy here in New York and I decided to do a little post on skin care. I'm getting some stuff done around my house today and also am having a pampering day because I'm staying in due to this yucky weather. Lately, I have been obsessing over sheet masks! I go along with my regular nightly skin care routine and then before I add my moisturizers and eye cream, I apply a sheet mask. Sheet masks are a perfect little pick me up and it feels like your receiving a spa treatment. My favorite sheet masks so far are by Too Cool For School and Boscia. I get the Egg Cream mask by Too Cool For School and I get the charcoal pore minimizing and the green tea mattifying masks by Boscia. They leave your skin so soft and it really allows your skin to absorb the essence that is packed into the sheet mask. I'll leave links below for you so that hopefully you can enjoy these masks as much as I do. Treat yourself to a pamper day and I promise you won't regret it!

What I Wore Wednesday : October 7, 2015

Hello everyone ! I'm so sorry for the absence of posts lately, I have just been super busy and not feeling as inspired as I normally am. I hope you can forgive me ! I came up with the idea that I could post what I was wearing on every Wednesday of the week and just make a simple post with just the items that I plan on wearing for that particular day.
